Premature Death
They were approximately 8 weeks old, this pair of sneakers. How does an 8 year old boy manage to do this to a pair of sneakers in 8 weeks? It's not just this pair, it's every pair. It doesn't seem to matter the cost or the brand. I asked this particular 8 year old boy how the hole in the side of his shoe came to be. (I could sort of understand the hole in the toe of his shoe. There's sliding to be done and the dragging of the feet when one is just too tired to walk properly.) He answered quite simply, "the hoe." Because for those of you know this boy, he does an astonishing amount of gardening. What???

What kind of gardening does this boy do? how did he do that and manage not to chop off a toe or anything?
Oh well, new shoes are always fun!
Have you checked to be sure all of his toes are there?
I'll be watching for shoe sales for you...
Eight weeks?! Those shoes look like they are at least 10 years old. Gardening? haha How DID he get the hole in the side?
