The First Day of Second Grade
The First Day of Kindergarten
And questions like this:
Abby: "Mommy, what was it like back in the day when you were in school?"
Me: "Pretty much like it is now."
Adam: "Oh, you had all of these cool things?"
Me: "Okay, not so much like it is now." Geez. No Smart Boards or anything like that Back in the Day.
Adam: "Well, you had those cool phones back in the day. You know the ones with a wire connected to it?"
Me: "Right, the wire." I won't even go into how he proceeded to explain that the phones we used Back in the Day were the kind where you talked into the mouth piece which you held in your hand and the part you dialed looked sort of like a triangle.
How old do they think I am anyway?

Don't you know that all children think parents, grandparents, (great aunts), etc are older than dirt.
Gotta love that t-shirt of Andrews!
Seems only yesterday he was born and Kristi and Ian were leaving for France. Now he's starting Kindergarten. Yikes, my Mother always said that time went faster the older she got - think I'm there!
Love the four of you,
Aunt Saundra
Too funny! I laughed out loud and my girls came running. The question: Didn't you use those phones when you were a kid, Mom? It only made me laugh harder!
Aww, too cute! My mom always took first day of school pictures of me and my brother. Love having them now. Hope your kids have a great school year!
Try explaining to him what it was to have a "party-line" on your line phone, you could pick up and someone else was talking and you had to wait until they were finished before you could use it. Do you remember that or were you too little? Just checking.
Love, Grandma
Those pictures are cute. And one in kindergarten too! How excited is everyone?
I'll be doing one of those pictures soon.
I don't even remember phones like that... Haha.
I'm sure my day will come with my kids asking similar questions.
Great pictures of all three, I hope you printed the picture of Andrew and gave it to his teacher. It sorta says, "Are you ready, cause here I come!"
