I Can't Believe It

Basketball season is underway and all three of the kids are playing this year. Last night was the first night of practice for A2 and A3. To say they were excited is an understatement. I did take my camera and I think these sum up the feelings of A3. I'm not sure that his feet ever hit the floor.

A2 had a grand time as well. I canNOT believe how tall she is getting. Sometimes I don't realize how much the kids have grown until I see them in a photo.

She was posing for this one.

A1 had practice too, but he wasn't feeling well ~ some sort of respiratory thing ~ and I didn't get a good shot of him. Actually, I don't feel that any of the shots are that great. I did a lot of playing with the camera dial...TV, AV, white balance, flash, no flash...can Santa please bring me a speed light??? My internal flash just doesn't cut it in these situations.

A2 and A3 have 3 coaches, there are twelve 5 and 6 year olds on their team. Two of the coaches are retired NFL players. From what I've been told the head coach is quite competitive and even had the kids running last night. (I love it!) Practice was quite entertaining and I really need to take the video camera. A3 had never met Mr. Mike before, but during practice shouts out, "Hey, you used to play for the Panthers!" Mr. Mike just looked at him and A3 says, "Well, it's the truth!!" Can't you just picture his eyes and his hand motions? To which Mr. Mike smiles and says, "Yeah, it's true." Mr. Mike let us parents know quite emphatically that our kids WILL improve this year and they WILL win. It's going to be so much fun watching this season unfold.
A2 woke up during the night with her legs hurting (growing pains). She crawled in bed with me, we used the heating pad and I rubbed her legs. When that wasn't working I got up to get some pain medicine for her. Can you believe that I had to get my glasses to read the dosage??? I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. (Thus, the title of the post.) I must be over 40 or something...

Love, love, love the enthusiasm of A3 in the pictures ~ and yes, I can see his eyes and hand motions as he informed the coach that he used to play for the Panthers!
Poor A2, growing pains are the worst. Perhaps that holds true both for the person experiencing them and for the folks that are in shock of how fast they are growing up. Seems like just yesterday that she was a chubby little baby...
Sure enjoyed decorating your tree and "shopping" in your toy bins on Sunday!
Love ya!

Looks like fun! I remember when I first started playing basketball, my first couple practices were much like A3's! Good memories. Kids look great, I'm sure you do to, but we don't see your face... I hope you are doing well. Love you.

I definitely will get to a game or two this year. Their enthusiasm is contagious. Can just see the twinkle in Mike Minter's eye when Andrew told him "It's the truth"! haha Great that they can all play. Being part of a team teaches so many invaluabale lessons. Know it means lots more running for you but once again you put the kids first. God bless you.
