A Morning in the Park

Saturday morning we headed into the local park for an Easter Egg Hunt. A year or so ago, we went to another local park for an Easter Egg Hunt. And while I remember it being an equally beautiful day, the crowd was overwhelming and Andrew wondered off with a friend of ours and didn't tell me. Panic set in...if you've never lost a child in a crowd, it's hard to describe the feeling that washes over you. Thankfully he was found within a matter of minutes, but it's not something I'll ever forget. That being said, I was a little leery of heading to another Easter Egg Hunt. This one, however, was wonderful--a moderate crowd, equally divided age groups, well run. We really had a good time.

Abby decided that she didn't want to participate in the actual gathering of the eggs. Let's be honest, from the picture above, you can tell there was no hunting involved.

Despite the fact that there are nine eggs visible in this picture, Andrew is contemplating his next move. He is a wee bit competitive.

I didn't realize that after Andrew's age group was finished he wasn't able to find us. I thought he was just looking around for more eggs. This was the look on his face when he finally connected with us.

After the gathering was done, we walked over to the football/soccer field. The kids ran and ran and ran. They played some tag, Abby danced, and then met up with one of the kids in Abby's class who brought a soccer ball. They must have played soccer for 45 minutes. I just sat on the bleachers soaking up the sun and talking to a family who recently moved here from Wisconsin.

Remember how I mentined that Andrew loves balls? He even came up with a little game of Kick the Egg.

I have to share this one of Abby. I just love her dimple.

The rest of the weekend will follow in another post.

Looks like you all had a good time. Kids always like hunting eggs, and then even hiding them and hunting them again!
Our weather was good this weekend until yesterday afternoon. Storms last nite and snow flurries today! Just mini ones. Oh well.

Pictures are great! What beautiful kids. I remember the other Easter Egg Hunt well. Those few minutes when we couldn't find Andrew and all of us took off in different directions calling for him brings back a panic feeling even now. Glad that this one was not as crowded. Looks like fun!

I remember the other egg hunt too. After the chaos of that one (complete with the woman who snatched candy almost out of Kylie's hand) I'm surprised that you tried one again. It looks like you had a wonderful time! All the pictures are great, but my favorite is of Abby and her dimples!
